Job Description

Levenseat are looking for a proactive Site Services Manager to join the operations team to help ensure the smooth, efficient and safe operations of site service activities. 

Levenseat is a leading Scottish Resource Management company working with 50 percentage of local authorities in Scotland and operating seven separate facilities, to recovery & recycle resource and generated renewable energy. This is an excellent opportunity to join an industry leading company, where you will manage the daily site support services, taking the lead and developing your team. 

You will work in partnership with other departments and related parties to coordinate site activities ensuring efficient and safe operation and achievement of agreed service levels. Site activities include: 

  • Internal Material Movements - Liaise with other department managers and collate requests for materials movements or other common services, thereafter co-ordinate and prioritise activities to ensure required resources available to meet minimum service levels.
  • Site traffic management – internal & 3rd Party - Monitor and manage the flow of customer and contractor vehicles across the site, identifying issues and ensuring safe and efficient traffic movements measured against agreed service levels.
  • Weighbridge upkeep & maintenance – monitor operational condition of the weighbridges, ensuring they are cleaned timeously and schedule all maintenance and calibration works.
  • Landfill Daily Operations – Manage landfill operations in line with disposal requirements whilst working to optimise the use of void space through controlled waste placement & compaction. Maintain compliance in line with the environmental permit and resource appropriately.
  • Landfill Gas Management – liaise with external companies involved in the capture and utilisation of landfill gas in order to ensure the gas engines operate with high levels of availability and minimise any escape of gas from the landfill.
  • Site utilities including water & power – oversee the continuous and uninterrupted provision of utilities around the site to ensure sufficient supply and the collection of data such as meter readings for reporting purposes.
  • Regular maintenance of Site Drainage & sumps - Monitor status of roadways, sumps, drainage systems and other site infrastructure as per schedule and ensure cleaning and maintenance is carried out to the required standard.
  • Road upkeep (sweeping, gritting, snow clearance) - Ensure preparedness for seasonal requirements and readiness for winter weather events.
  • Security & Out of Hours Cover - Ensure site is safe & secure at all times, highlight any issues identified and recommend improvements. Manage night gateman out of hours site cover for times when weighbridge closed.
  • Grounds & Surrounds – Provide direction to the Grounds & Surrounds team to ensure objectives are achieved and suitable resourcing is in place to facilitate this.
  • Litter control – responsible for litter control arrangements on site including nets as well as prompt collection of any litter within the site or it’s surrounds.
  • Visitor & Contractor Management – Ensure suitable arrangements are in place for the reception, induction and oversight of all visitors and contractors arriving on site.
  • Health & Safety - Ensure all HSE and audit compliance actions are fulfilled.

You will be responsible for the site services team and through good communication you will ensure all employees understand their duties. You will demonstrate good leadership skills through coaching and by providing constructive feedback to the team.

Essential Skills

  • Strong leadership & planning skills.
  • Significant experience in all current Health and Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Demonstrable experience in the production of risk assessments, method statements, and associated site documentation.
  • Knowledge of SEPA regulations.

Desired Skills

Previous experience of working within the waste/resource sector or a processing facility would be advantageous.
